Bath Western Riverside

‘ECG has helped us to deliver an extremely challenging sustainable energy strategy for this major development…..Their innovative ESCo model is very attractive and good for our customers, and we look forward to working with them in the future'

Deborah Aplin, Managing Director of Crest Nicholson Regeneration Ltd

ECG's involvement ensures;

  • An energy efficient design specification which is both commercially viable and compliant with current legislation and that will remain ahead of increased stringent carbon reduction targets as legislation becomes more stringent during the lifetime of the construction programme.
  • On-site energy generation equipment using both natural gas and renewable energy fuel sources to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by a third.
  • Funding to support the capital cost of the plant and infrastructure.

The plans for over 2,200 new homes at Western Riverside including residential, student accommodation and commercial space approved in February 2008 set a new standard for integrated sustainability. Energy provision for the development has been secured through one of the largest ever Energy Services Agreements for a residentially led scheme, that was signed by Crest Nicholson and EcoCentroGen in January 2008.

Climate change mitigation and adaptation have been priority issues for the design and engineering of this particularly challenging 43 acres brown field site in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath

Cardiff Bay Pointe

‘We are delighted to have ECG involved with this project, their practical, proactive approach, made appointing an ESCo much easier than we had anticipated'

Stuart Wright, Deputy Chairman of City Lofts

Bay Point Ltd, a joint development between Allied Developments (Europe) and City Lofts Group have signed long term 125 year agreements with ECG to operate and provide funding towards the development of onsite energy centres and infrastructure in one of Cardiff's biggest single developments.

The Development comprising nearly 2400 units will benefit from low carbon, low cost energy supplied by an onsite combined heat and power system and with additional electricity generated by Helix wind turbines positioned in each tower.
